For me, photography is a way to tell stories. I challenge myself to create images that even in their simplicity, communicate emotion and feeling.
My priority during every session is connecting with my clients and making them feel at ease. I believe that a person can only look their best when they are comfortable with themselves, and comfortable with me.
I visualize the way I want my images to look prior to a shoot. These ideas serve as a launching pad for the session, but I gain most of my inspiration from the moment. There is a heavy environmental influence in my photography; I find myself drawing from the location of the shoot and the client’s personality to establish the direction of each session.
I depend on natural light for every session and love the warm, golden light that comes just before sunset. A beautiful image is made up of many parts, but for me, beautiful light “makes the magic” in a photograph. Colors come alive in gorgeous light, and in turn, people shine.
